Gene Majka, assistant professor of nursing at Barry University, has been named Community Engagement Educator of the Year by Florida Campus Compact. Majka won the award for the independent sector.

Dr. M. Sylvia Fernandez has been named associate dean for the Clinical Practice Division in Barry University’s School of Education. The clinic will meet the academic and mental health needs of underserved children and their families.

Barry University's Dr. Robert Synder has co-authored an article detailing the results of a [mid-stage] phase 2b trial for a unique cell-based therapy in venous leg ulcers. Synder is director of Clinical Research & professor of podiatric medicine.
