Kitchener’s own Julius Bunda fought tonight at Casino New Brunswick in Moncton. On the line was the vacant Canadian Professional Boxing Council Middleweight title.

Kitchener’s Julius “Caesar” Bunda won a decisive victory in his professional boxing debut against Juan Sanchez in front of a sold-out crowd at The Gates in Winnipeg on October 15.

The 2009 Golden Gloves featured over 100 boxers from across Ontario and was hosted by Syd “The Jewel” Vanderpool, who is founder and coach of Destiny Boxing, which trains out of the GameDay Fitness facility in downtown Kitchener.

The 9th annual Summehays Boxing tournament was held this weekend in Brantford, Ontario. Kitchener boxers representing Boxing by Syd Vanderpool racked up an impressive 4 medals over the 3 day tournament featuring boxers from all over Ontario.
