A Purley man is celebrating after being presented with a top accolade for his work within The Scout Association.

The Pinewood Derby..building that car with someone special..8 years old..the sweet smell of sawdust..some kids had carpenters or machinists in the family..some built it on their own, character before speed... and some were too poor to be Cub Scouts.

Allstate agency owner Edwin Heary was recently named an Agent Hero by Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region, and awarded a $500 grant for a local youth program. Heary donated the grant to Cub Scout Pack 391, where he served as Cubmaster.

Scouts, parents, and leaders alike get the camp ready for the fall.

Allstate agency owner Lawrence Caufield was recently named an Agent Hero by Allstate Insurance Company’s New York Region, and awarded a $500 grant for a local youth program. Caufield donated the grant to Cub Scout Pack 37 of Pine Bush.

Stonebriar Chevrolet gives back to the community by teaming with the local Cub Scouts. Taking part in the annual Pinewood Derby was an honor, as the space that normally occupies motorized vehicles turned into a showroom for the boys' handmade cars.
