Tabletop puppetry project brings focus to hunger and food scarcity issues

The Food Bank for Westchester, which has been fighting hunger for 23 years, honored this year’s Hunger Heroes at the 6th Annual Awards Breakfast June 7. The event recognized those who have made exceptional efforts in fighting hunger this past year.

On Saturday, May 28, Home Helpers / Lockport helps sponsor the annual Lockport Food Pantry Food Drive, a community event held at Rich's Yamaha, 14354 South Archer in Lockport from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donors are asked to bring non-perishable food items.

All Creatures Veterinary Center in Carrollton is donating 1000 pounds of Hill's Science Diet pet food to Operation Kindness. This completes the Thanksgiving Food Exchange, where All Creatures' clients donate food to Metrocrest Social Service.
