After a record-breaking year of nominations, the Countryside Alliance are delighted to announce the Rural Oscars' Regional Champions. Evans the Butchers of Langport are the proud winners of the South West Butcher category.

Langport’s very own local newspaper is proud to announce that at The Somerset Business Awards dinner on 16th November, they won the Business of the Year award in the small business category.

Nelson Ryall, founder of Boilertec has been a specialist heating engineer for 28 years, but never a man to stand still, Nelson recently saw a business opportunity in Langport.

Following the success of the first Langport market held earlier this year, the Langport Area Business Group has organised another market which will take place on the morning of Friday 8th June from 09.30 – 13.30 hours.

With funding from various local bodies, the young people of Langport and Huish Episcopi Youth Club embarked on a collaborative project, creating some wonderful, colourful flags to decorate the small market town of Langport.

Langport is backing British and local with a new quarterly market in town. With the support of Langport Town Council and the business community, a local market is being trialled and it is hoped that it will become a regular fixture in 2013.
