The 2009 Jerome Sacks Award for Cross-Disciplinary Research was presented to Ramanathan Gnanadesikan and Vijay Nair and John Rolph are the recipients of this year’s NISS Distinguished Service Awards.

The National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) established a Cross-Sector Research in Residence Program with the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), the survey and estimation arm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

NISS cuts the ribbon on the new wing of its existing building. The new wing will almost double the existing space.

John Rice, Professor and Chair of the Department of Statistics at the University of California Berkeley, is the recipient of the 2008 Jerome Sacks Award for Cross-Disciplinary Research.

The National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) hired Weiwei Cui as the NAEP-ESSI Research Analyst. NISS partners with the American Institutes for Research (AIR & helps to operate the NAEP Education Statistics Services Institute (NESSI).
