Deadline is January 23, 2012 for submissions to Theater Project Young Playwrights Competition

The 28th Annual New Jersey Young Playwrights Contest Festival will be held on May 23 and May 24 as part of a partnership between Playwrights Theatre and Premiere Stages at Kean University.

The Essential Theatre Festival receives over fifty new plays by Georgia playwrights for its 13th Annual Playwriting Award.

The Woodland Ensemble Company cast of 70s FRIENDS written by 6th grader, Michae Jones presented a repeat performance of the original stage play for GA State Superintendent Kathy Cox during her recent visit to Woodland Elementary Charter School.

Playwrights Theatre is accepting submissions for 27th Annual NJ Young Playwrights Contest. Plays are accepted in: Elementary (grades 4-6), Junior High (grades 7-9), High School (grades 10-12), Rewrites (grades 10-12) and Podstages (Grades 10-12).

From the nearly 370 plays submitted by young writers throughout New Jersey, a panel of theatre professionals has selected four High School plays, four Junior High School plays and four Elementary Schools plays to be performed on May 18 & 19, 2009.
