Celebrating Sustainability and Renewal Free food, entertainment and prizes are on tap for a new Energize Kingston event to be held at the YMCA on Broadway on Saturday, April 20.

Washington, DC --  RUPCO CEO Kevin O’Connor was named Practitioner of the Year by the National NeighborWorks®Association (NNA) in Washington, DC last week, an honor that brought a $2,500 prize back to his affordable housing agency.

Kathleen Leahy, the COO of RUPCO (www.rupco.org) was awarded a Professional Certificate in Asset Management, an advanced designation from CHAM. CHAM’s designation program supports industry managers in the field of nonprofit asset management.

The $350,000 grant helps with down payment, closing costs, and rehabilitation.

Rural Ulster Preservation Company (RUPCO) among first organizations to receive a green designation. NeighborWorks® Green Program recognizes "sustainable business practices of community organizations within its network."

RUPCO will host Community Lunch in Kingston. The theme is “Creative Placemaking” with an interactive discussion with Ann Markusen and a mixed media arts show featuring local artists. Bonnie Landi will be presented with a Community Partner Award.
