In July 2011, SGS was assigned a contract to perform quality control services of wind towers for Sany Group, a heavy construction equipment manufacturer, in China.

SGS will participate in the third annual Offshore Wind Construction, Installation and Commissioning Conference in London, UK, from October 4–6, 2011.

SGS article on In-Service Inspections for Wind Farm Projects was featured in the April-May 2011 issue of the InWind Chronicle magazine.

SGS will attend the Offshore Wind Logistics 2011 Conference in London, from January 19-20, 2011. On the first day of the conference, SGS Risk Management expert, Jale Cairney, will give a speech on the Risk Management of Wind Farm Project Logistics.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer, seller, installer and servicing company, honored SGS with an award as recognition of its contribution towards the successful execution of a wind power project at Theni, India.

Dr. Pavel Novak was appointed as the new manager of SGS´ Wind Energy Technology Center (WETC) in Tianjin, China. Effective from March 15, 2010, Pavel took over responsibility for the operation of WETC and staff training.

In July 2009, SGS was assigned a contract to conduct Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Management for the Belwind Bligh Bank Offshore Wind Farm in Belgium.

SGS will be participating in the I International Meeting on Risk Prevention in the Wind Energy Sector organized by AEE from May 11-12, 2010 in Barcelona, Spain.

In May 2008, SGS began with Project Certification services for Borkum West II offshore wind farm. Project Certification offered by SGS enables wind farm owners to obtain necessary approvals and meet international and local standards.

On September 23, 2009, the SGS Wind Competence Center provided Norderland Projekt GmbH with Statement of Compliance (SoC) for the design basis of their two offshore wind farms – Northern Energy Global Tech II and Northern Energy Global Tech III.

In October 2009, SGS Statutory Services Belgium was accredited as Authorized Inspection Organization (AIO) for the certification of Belgian offshore installations for the production of electricity from renewable energy.

SGS is sponsoring the Conference on Project Lifecycle Risk for Offshore Renewables, an event which will take place from January 26 - 27, 2010 in London.

The SGS Wind Energy Competence Center participated in the Korea Green Energy Show 2009 and presented its services such as Wind Farm Project Certification, Blade Inspection and Condition Monitoring.

SGS Wind Energy Services has recently added to its portfolio comprehensive occupational Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental auditing services (HSSE), including Legal Mapping and Risk Management Advisory Services for offshore wind farms.

SGS showcased its Wind Energy Services that span the project life cycle of wind turbines at the Wind Power Expo 2009 Conference and Exhibition, which took place on September 22 – 24 at the Zaragoza Exhibition Center in Spain.

SGS supported RWE with Owner’s Representative Services in establishing its first Wind Farm in Poland, consisting of 18 wind turbines.

Sky Power Corp., Canada’s leading independent renewable energy company, awarded SGS Wind Energy Services the contract for Technical Due Diligence on the Fuhrländer 1.5 MW wind turbine technology.
