SPJ's Region 10 is now accepting entries into the2011 SPJ Northwest Excellence in Journalism contest, now through Feb. 20.

Freelance writer Dana Neuts of Kent was elected to the national board of the Society of Professional Journalists during its annual conference. Serving a two-year term, Neuts was named to the position of regional director for a five-state region.

Tara Puckey, owner of tara puckey freelance, was named as National Student Representative at the Society of Professional Journalists convention in August. Her term will run through the October 2010 convention in Las Vegas.

The Western Washington Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists announced its annual Excellence in Journalism contest today. Scott Maben, Regional Director for SPJ’s Region 10, also unveiled its Excellence in Journalism contest today.
