On Thursday, November 1, local entrepreneur and former middleweight champion boxer Syd “The Jewel” Vanderpool will step onto a different platform – not one for a sports award or medal, but one in front of more than 200 students.

Coming this Thursday, October 18 2012, world-recognized champion boxer Syd “The Jewel” Vanderpool a Preston Panther Alumni returns to his home turf for a promotional stop at a local Cambridge eatery.

Syd Vanderpool, a former middleweight champion, and Joe Phillips, have formed a management team. With boxer ‘Dangerous’ Denton Daley’s upcoming February 11 bout at Mississauga’s Hershey Centre, it's time to prove how it’s done.

Syd Vanderpool’s no stranger to competition and although he’s retired from competitive professional boxing, he continues to fight for what he believes in. And this time he fights for a shot at $20,000 on Brett Wilson’s, new show Risky Business.

Kitchener’s own Jason “Friday 13th” Douglas and Julius “Caesar” Bunda will be flying to Casino New Brunswick to fight for Canadian Titles on Sept 10, 2011.
