STAFFORDSHIRE residents have backed a major shake-up of trauma care in the county – as long as there are no knock-on effects at local accident and emergency (A&E) units.

Fayetteville, NC’s Grey Group joined forces with Greer, SC's North American Rescue (NAR) to provide a two-day First Responder’s Course instructed by NAR’s cadre of former Army Ranger and Special Operations Medics.

CALSTAR will unveil its new GPS instrument approach and Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) on October 11 at Mee Memorial Hospital. The project will allow CALSTAR to serve more critically ill and injured patients in Monterey County.

CALSTAR's Vacaville base, known as CALSTAR 8, marks its 5th anniversary this month. Since the base opened in 2006, flight crews have transported approximately 1,400 critically ill and injured patients throughout Solano and surrounding counties.

CALSTAR 6 in South Lake Tahoe began operations 10 years ago this month. Since then, the base has completed more than 3,000 transports of critically ill and injured patients throughout the Sierra Nevada region.
