By New Life Childrens Home Many Haiti Orphans were rescued in 2008 by New Life Childrens Home after the devastating back to back Hurricanes. "We hope this year will be a quiet one" remarks Miriam as she prepares the Haiti Orphanage to take on additional children if necessary. By World Harvest Missions Outreach Thousands of people died in Haiti this year from water borne diseases which could have been avoided or greatly reduced. Water borne disease is the largest killer of children in undeveloped nations without a clean source of drinking water. By World Harvest Missions Outreach “It was very hard to hand out food from the containers and at the end of 1000 families the food was gone, but we had to look at the other 4000 families there and tell them there was no more food for them or their starving children.” By World Harvest Missions Outreach If the Haitian government had an evacuation plan many lives could have been spared. We are taking more orphans into our Haiti orphanage New Life Childrens Home than we have the room for but they have no where else to go and we won’t turn them away. By World Harvest Missions Outreach Bodies appeared on almost every other corner. The raging waters were sweeping the children away when water barreled through the doors of their homes.
