Proposals for the Phuket light railway seem to be finally gathering pace, after more than a decade of waiting. Dohwa Engineering President visited Phuket this week to assess the scheme's viability.

The feasibility for the controversial tunnel project from Kathu to Patong was presented by engineering consultants at a meeting at Royal Phuket City Hotel this week. The six billion baht project includes two one-way tunnels, each 1,600 metres long.

More flights between South Korea and Phuket

Air Asia has announced plans to launch new direct flights between Phuket and Denpasar in Bali. Starting on the 17th December, Air Asia will operate the new route four times weekly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
