Gold Rush Fine Jewelry is sponsoring the “Fairbanks Opal Extravaganza”, an annual opal show that features natural opals directly from the Australian miner to the public on Sept. 23rd and Sept.24th.

Second place in the 2010 Iditarod taken by Hans Gatt, the musher who won the Yukon Quest two weeks earlier. Gatt had a very good year wearing Northern Outfitters winter parka, snow pants, boots and mitten system.

The parka system and cold weather gear worn by Hans Gatt in the 2010 Yukon Quest 1000-mile dogsled race were pivotal in his win. Wearing Northern Outfitters' parka system, boots and mittens, Gatt beat the previous race record by more than 24 hours.

The Alaska State Fair is seeking qualified individuals who wish to serve on the Fair board of directors; the candidate application deadline is Tuesday, December 15, 2009.
