DHA’s mobile medical unit traveled to Rehoboth Beach in June to provide spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations for over 60 cats at no cost thanks to funds raised by their annual Walk for the Animals at the Beach.

Celebrating American Heroes, DHA’s 21st Annual Walk for the Animals on October 2nd, a day of fun and fundraising! All proceeds benefit Delaware Humane Association, a no kill animal shelter, and its mission as carried out in a four state area.

February 22nd is Spay Day, a national campaign of the Humane Society of the United States to educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering. DHA’s Spay/Neuter Program provides low cost spay/neuter for cats and dogs year round.

A year-long bird survey of Phillips Park in Newark, Delaware, conducted by Alex Zorach and others, has concluded, with 97 bird species recorded. The survey also uncovered environmental concerns in the park, including oil and sewage in a creek.
