The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation and the National Park Service are thrilled to welcome renowned historian and musician, Bobby Horton, as he presents “Songs & Stories of the Civil War” on May 8, 2012 at 7pm in the Historic SCH Auditorium.

Ignite is a non-profit organization based in south Jackson, Miss. To demonstrate its commitment to education, Ignite will partner with local colleges, universities, high schools and business owners to hold its first ever Internship Tour.

The National Park Service has awarded the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation a grant to organize and sponsor a year-long celebration to honor the spirit and works of Vicksburg nature artist, Hobbs Freeman.

The SCHF promises this race will be one of the biggest. This event welcomes hundreds to the City of Vicksburg and will serve as a wonderful family event. It will take place on October 8th at 8:00am and begins at the Old Mississippi River Bridge.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation (SCHF) of Vicksburg has been awarded a $17,800 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC). This grant is a portion of the $1.5 million in grants the Commission will award in 2011-2012.

This elegant evening will be held on May 3, 2012 and will include irresistible chocolate desserts, drinks, and entertainment. We are thrilled to welcome renowned vocalist/songwriter, Shannon McNally, with an unforgettable acoustic performance.

This exhibition is organized by the Mississippi Museum of Art. The exhibit will open in the Academy Building on Tuesday, July 5th with a reception from 4:00pm-6:00pm. The exhibit will continue until August 5th during regular business hours.

Rockabilly Pioneer Helps Oxford Musicians

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation (SCHF) is honored to receive a proclamation from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg, Mississippi declaring October as Southern Cultural Heritage Month.

This event will offer a variety of entertainment through different genres of classic music. Local entertainers and local restaurants will provide the music and lunch on Fridays from 12:00pm-1:00pm beginning October 9th and concluding October 30th.

The SCHF is delighted to present “FISH TALE”, the Story of Peter. John Maxwell performs this one-man show as we look at the life of Jesus through the eyes of an illiterate blue-collar worker whose name is Peter.
