For the Very Curious: Illustration is very different than regular picture making in that, while other pictures can be whatever the artist wants, an illustration must tell a specific story. It often requires words to be complete.

Burlington artist Jamie Ellis Hansen graduated from UNC Pembroke with a BFA in Fine Art with a concentration in painting. Her medium of choice is watercolors and oils. Her work is spontaneous and fluid, often snapshots from her everyday life.

Opening reception for "Indian Summer"- works by local artists- is to be viewed at the Second Friday Artwalk in Chapel Hill, at the Focal Point Gallery, Friday, October 14th 6-9 pm.

Eduardo Lapetina was quoted by one interviewer as an "inspired heir to 20th century abstractionism, whose surfaces are strong, majestic and brilliantly colored.” His work can be found in private collections in the US and Europe.

Burton Tysinger constructs small and large sculptures from varying lengths of brightly colored thin wooden dowels into three dimensional images. His work can be found in corporate and private collections across the US.
